Rituals in Greek letter organizations

Rituals in Greek letter organizations are regarded as the essential element in Greek life. There has been a great deal of discussions, articles and books on all aspects of fraternity rituals, for example psychological, sociological, practical/utilitarian, mystical, and, a lot less, ethnological/anthropological.

This forum is open to all Greeks to lay out their thoughts and intuitions.

to understand the importance of fraternity rituals one must read ethnology (cultural anthropology). There seems to be a need for males to group for hunting, war, and other activities including aggression. This is a biological need which must be satisfied for self-actualization. Ritual is a totemic, animistic phenomenon present in most primitive as well as modern societies (e.g. football, religion).
